• I hold a PhD & MA in French Linguistics (Indiana University) and a BS in Mechanical Engineering (Oakland University).
• I have over 20 years of university and high school teaching experience, including teaching the theory and practice of translation, French composition, French grammar, phonetics and linguistics.
• I worked in the Automotive Industry with Chrysler Corporation (Highland Park) and Autodynamics (Troy).
• I studied French in France at the Université de Dijon in Burgundy and at the Centre de linguistique appliquée in Besançon.
• I taught high school and Associate's degree-level English in Toulon, in the South of France near Marseille.
• In addition to France, I have lived and traveled to a variety of French-speaking regions, including Belgium, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Louisiana, the Comoros Islands (Mayotte), the province of Quebec and I have conducted research in French-speaking Northern Ontario (Hearst).
• I have presented at sociolinguistics conferences in both French and English at conferences in the United States, Canada, and Europe.
• I am a member of the American Association of Literary Translators (ALTA).
